ABOUT ME...

Hi!  My name is Mrs.Velez. 

The 2016-17 school year is my nineth at Falcon Cove Middle School.  I currently teach 7th grade Cambridge Science and 8th grade IGCSE Biology. I graduated from NOVA Southeastern University with a degree in Biology and a Master's Degree in Secondary Science Education with gifted endorsement. I enjoy spending time with my husband, my two kids and my dog.  I love to travel, mountain bike, crossfit, paint and helping people how to live a healthy lifestyle. 

I love teaching Science at FCMS, love my students, my classroom and the teachers with whom I work closely.

I really enjoy teaching science, doing lab activities, and internet projects.  I love seeing my students get excited, challenged, and even grossed out studying the cool world of science.

Within the Science Classroom, my mission is to teach science through a variety of hands-on activities, class discussion, cooperative group learning activities, reading for critical thinking, projects, research, and Lab investigations.  You will be challenged to think critically, observe the world around you, experiment, and record /analyze data in order to solve real world problems.

My personal motto towards teaching: "My role as a teacher is not to be the knower of all things, but to awaken in you the desire to know all that you can learn!"
